Refund Policy

Plain language summary: Request a refund within 7 days of purchase and before consuming more than 20% of content — we'll process it, no questions asked. Proctored exams and live sessions have separate cancellation windows detailed below.

Overview & Our Commitment

At Developers Stack, we stand behind the quality of every course, live session, and assessment on our platform. We offer a straightforward 7-day refund window from the date of purchase — no lengthy forms, no unnecessary friction.

This policy applies to all individual course purchases, subscription plans, exam seat bookings, and live session tickets purchased directly through Developers Stack. Institutional LMS contracts are governed by the separately agreed Master Service Agreement (MSA).

We process all eligible refunds within 5–10 business days back to the original payment method. Refunds to cards typically appear within 3–7 business days depending on your bank.

When You Are Eligible for a Refund

You are eligible for a full refund if all of the applicable conditions below are met for your purchase type. We have designed these eligibility criteria specifically around how Developers Stack works — from adaptive learning paths to proctored exams and live streaming.

Request Within 7 Days

Refund request submitted within 7 calendar days of the original purchase date.

Less Than 20% Content Accessed

You have watched fewer than 20% of course videos or completed fewer than 20% of modules.

Technical Failure by Developers Stack

A platform outage, streaming failure, or server error prevented you from accessing purchased content.

Live Session Cancelled

A scheduled live expert session or live broadcast was cancelled by the instructor or Developers Stack.

Accidental Duplicate Purchase

You were charged twice for the same course, subscription, or exam seat within the same billing cycle.

Course Significantly Misrepresented

The course content is materially different from what was described on the course listing page at the time of purchase.

Institutional Overpayment

An institution was billed for more seats or cohorts than were provisioned in the agreed LMS contract.

Unauthorised Transaction

A charge was made without your authorisation and reported within 7 days of the statement date.

If your situation is not listed above but you believe a refund is warranted, contact our support team — we review all requests individually and use reasonable discretion.

Section 03

When You Are Not Eligible for a Refund

The following situations are not eligible for refunds. These exclusions exist to protect the integrity of our platform and the livelihoods of our instructors.

More Than 20% Content Completed

You have accessed more than 20% of the course material, regardless of the time elapsed.

Beyond 7-Day Window

The refund request is submitted more than 7 calendar days after the purchase date.

Certificate Already Issued

A completion certificate or blockchain-verified credential has already been issued to you for the course.

Exam Already Attempted

You have started or submitted a proctored exam associated with the purchased course or exam seat.

Promotional or Free-Trial Conversion

The purchase was made using a promotional discount code, scholarship, or converted from a free trial after explicit acceptance.

User-Side Technical Issues

Access was prevented by issues on your end — such as poor internet connection, unsupported device, or browser incompatibility.

Account Suspended for Violations

Your account was suspended or terminated for violating our Terms of Use or Acceptable Use Policy.

Subscription Renewal Already Processed

A subscription renewal has already been processed. Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not refund the current period.

Section 04

Refund Rules by Purchase Type

Developers Stack offers several purchase types. The 7-day window applies universally, but additional conditions apply per type:

Individual Course Purchases

  • Full refund if requested within 7 days and less than 20% of course content has been accessed.
  • Content access is measured by our platform logs — videos watched, modules opened, and exercises submitted.
  • Downloading course materials for offline access counts toward the consumption threshold.

Subscription Plans (Monthly & Annual)

  • Monthly plans: Refundable within 7 days of the initial purchase only. Subsequent renewal charges are not refundable; cancel before your renewal date to avoid future charges.
  • Annual plans: Refundable within 7 days of the initial or renewal charge, provided fewer than 3 courses have been started and no certificates have been issued.
  • Downgrading from annual to monthly does not generate a refund for the price difference.

Proctored Exam Seats

  • Full refund if cancelled more than 48 hours before the scheduled exam start time.
  • 50% refund if cancelled between 24 and 48 hours before the exam.
  • No refund for cancellations within 24 hours of the exam, no-shows, or exams already attempted.
  • If Developers Stack cancels or reschedules an exam, a full refund is issued automatically within 3 business days.

Live Expert Sessions & Broadcasts

  • Full refund if the session is cancelled by the instructor or Developers Stack for any reason.
  • Full refund if you cancel your ticket more than 24 hours before the session start time.
  • No refund for cancellations within 24 hours of session start or for sessions you joined and then left.
  • Recordings of live sessions, where available, are non-refundable once the recording has been accessed.

Institutional LMS Plans

  • Governed by the Master Service Agreement (MSA) signed at onboarding.
  • Pro-rated refunds for unused seat-months may be negotiated during contract termination per MSA Section 9.
  • Contact your dedicated account manager or enterprise@developersstack.com for institutional billing disputes.

Add-ons & Career Hub Services

  • Resume review, mock interview, and career coaching sessions: refundable only if the session has not yet occurred.
  • Job referral introductions and employer partner connections are non-refundable once initiated.

How to Request a Refund

We've made the refund process as simple as possible. Follow these steps:

Go to Account Settings

Navigate to Account Settings → Purchases & Billing → Request Refund next to the relevant order.

Select a Reason

Choose the reason that best describes your situation from the dropdown. This helps us improve the platform.

Submit Your Request

Click Submit. You will receive a confirmation email within 15 minutes with your request reference number.

We Review & Process

Our team reviews your request within 1 business day. Eligible refunds are processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method.

Alternative Contact

If you cannot access your account settings, email us at billing@developersstack.com with your order ID, registered email address, and reason for the refund. Include "Refund Request" in the subject line.

Response Times

  • Acknowledgement: Within 15 minutes (automated).
  • Decision: Within 1 business day for standard requests.
  • Payment: 5–10 business days after approval (bank processing times vary).
  • Disputes escalated to billing team: Within 3 business days.
Section 06

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card provider. Most disputes can be resolved quickly through our support team without the delays and complications of a formal chargeback process.

  • If you initiate a chargeback without first contacting Developers Stack, your account may be suspended pending investigation.
  • If a chargeback is found to be fraudulent or made in bad faith, we reserve the right to pursue recovery of the disputed amount and associated fees.
  • Successful chargebacks will result in permanent removal of access to the disputed course or subscription and revocation of any associated certificates.
  • For unrecognised charges, email billing@developersstack.com — we respond within 1 business day and can confirm or refund any suspicious transaction.
Section 07

Currency & Taxes

All refunds are processed in the original currency of the transaction at the exchange rate applicable at the time of the original purchase. Developers Stack is not responsible for exchange rate fluctuations that may result in a different local currency value at the time of the refund.

  • Taxes: Where applicable, taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) collected at the time of purchase will be included in the refund amount.
  • Transaction Fees: Payment processing fees charged by Stripe are non-recoverable and will not be refunded as part of the transaction.
  • Promotional Credits: If a discount code or promotional credit was applied, the refund amount reflects the actual amount paid, not the original listed price.

Changes to This Policy

Developers Stack reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page with an updated "Last updated" date. For purchases made before a policy change, the policy in effect at the time of purchase applies.

We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
