Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully before using Developers Stack. They govern your access to and use of our platform, courses, and services.

Last updated: June 5, 2025

Plain language summary: Use Developers Stack honestly and respect other users. Don't cheat on assessments, share your credentials, or copy course content. We can suspend accounts that break these rules.

Section 01

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Developers Stack ("the Platform," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including learners, educators, institutional administrators, and visitors. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent platform notice.

Section 02

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Developers Stack. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. Institutional accounts created for minors remain the responsibility of the subscribing institution.

By registering, you represent that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete, and that you will keep it updated at all times.

Section 03

Accounts & Registration

To access certain features you must register for an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Your Responsibilities

  • You may not share your account credentials with any third party.
  • Security Incidents: You must notify Developers Stack immediately at security@developersstack.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
  • Developers Stack is not liable for any loss arising from your failure to safeguard your credentials.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms without prior notice.

Account Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings → Privacy.
  • Upon termination, your access to paid content ceases immediately; refunds are governed by Section 4.
  • Blockchain-verified certificates issued prior to termination remain verifiable per their on-chain record.
Section 04

Subscriptions & Payments

Certain features require a paid subscription. By subscribing you authorise us to charge the applicable fees to your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Billing

  • Refunds: Requests submitted within 14 days of purchase and before completing more than 20% of course content will be reviewed and, where eligible, refunded within 5–10 business days.
  • Cancellations: You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of your current billing period with no partial refunds for unused time.
  • Price Changes: We will give at least 30 days' notice of price increases via the email on your account. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
  • Taxes: Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax), which will be added at checkout based on your billing location.
  • Failed Payments: We will attempt to re-process a failed payment up to three times before suspending your account.

Free Trials

  • Free trials convert automatically to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial period unless cancelled before the trial ends.
  • Only one free trial per user. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional free trials is prohibited.
Section 05

User-Generated Content

Developers Stack may allow you to post, upload, or share content ("User Content") such as forum posts, project submissions, reviews, and course materials. You retain ownership of your User Content but grant Developers Stack a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and display your User Content for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.

Prohibited User Content

You agree not to post User Content that:

  • Is false, misleading, or fraudulent;
  • Violates any third-party intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • Contains malware, spam, or unsolicited commercial communications;
  • Is abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or unlawful;
  • Impersonates any person or entity or misrepresents your affiliation.

We reserve the right to remove any User Content at our sole discretion without prior notice. Repeated violations may result in permanent account suspension.

Section 06

Intellectual Property

All Platform content — including courses, videos, assessments, software, trademarks, and logos — is owned by Developers Stack or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the Platform solely for your personal, non-commercial educational use.

Restrictions

  • Copy, distribute, or publicly display Platform content without prior written permission;
  • Reverse-engineer or decompile any portion of the Platform software;
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to extract or index content;
  • Resell, sublicense, or transfer access to any course, module, or certificate;
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.

DMCA / Copyright Complaints

  • To report copyright infringement, send a notice to dmca@developersstack.com with the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3).
  • We will respond to valid DMCA notices promptly and may remove infringing content pending resolution.
Section 07

Prohibited Conduct

In addition to the content restrictions above, the following conduct is strictly prohibited on Developers Stack:

Platform Integrity

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its underlying systems;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, performance, or availability of the Platform;
  • Introduce viruses, trojans, worms, or other malicious or harmful code.

Academic Integrity

  • Circumvent or manipulate any exam proctoring or assessment feature;
  • Submit another person's work as your own, engage in plagiarism, or use unauthorised aids during assessments;
  • Sell, trade, or transfer your account, certifications, or course completions to any third party.

Community Standards

  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate any other user, educator, or Developers Stack employee;
  • Engage in discriminatory behaviour based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin;
  • Use the Platform to solicit, recruit, or advertise to other users without our prior written consent.
Section 08

Certifications & Credentials

Certificates issued by Developers Stack are awarded based on successful completion of the relevant coursework and assessments. All credentials are subject to the following conditions:

  • Revocation: We reserve the right to revoke any certificate if we determine it was obtained through fraudulent means, including cheating, impersonation, or manipulation of proctoring systems.
  • Blockchain Records: Blockchain-verified credentials are recorded at the time of issuance. Revocation will be reflected in our verification portal; however, on-chain records may remain immutable per the nature of distributed ledger technology.
  • Employer Verification: Certificates may be verified by employers via our public verification portal at verify.developersstack.com.
  • No Employment Guarantee: A certificate does not guarantee employment, a specific salary, or admission to any educational institution. Individual outcomes vary.
Section 09

Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

  • Developers Stack does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
  • We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any course content or third-party information available through the Platform.
  • We do not guarantee employment outcomes, salary increases, or career advancement referenced in marketing materials; individual results will vary.
  • References to third-party products, services, or organisations do not constitute an endorsement.
Section 10

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Developers Stack and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform — including loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall not exceed the greater of:

  • The total amount you paid to us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
  • USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, so the above may not apply to you in full. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Section 11

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

Arbitration

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.

Class Action Waiver

You and Developers Stack each waive any right to participate in a class-action lawsuit, class-wide arbitration, or any other representative proceeding with respect to any claim covered by these Terms.

Exceptions

  • Users in the EU, UK, or jurisdictions where mandatory consumer protection laws apply may have additional rights that cannot be waived by these Terms.
  • Nothing in this section limits your right to file a complaint with a relevant regulatory authority.
